A 1176-class FET: fixed threshold, attack from 0.02 ms, five ratio caps and all-buttons-in. Drive it with input gain. The distortion is not a side effect — it is why you reach for it.

A bus-compressor-class VCA: threshold, attack to 100 ms, release to 2 s or AUTO, and a detector-only high-pass. Every timing decision is yours.

Eleven octave bands on the song’s notes — TUNE to the key and every band lands on the root’s octaves. Per-band saturation fills where a boost can’t: cut with EQ, fill with drive.

A steel sheet in two voicings — VOCAL and PERC — with the tail-control the original never had: DUCK under the source, or GATE in time with the song. The tail is drawn on the glass, live.

Two needles at 300 ms true-VU ballistics, 0 VU = −18 dBFS, and a TRIM card that prints the exact move to reach it. Zero latency; it reads, it never processes.
